I've only ever had one Emperor, and I've always been told an easy way to tell the difference between a Malaysian Forest and an Emperor is that the Emporer is mellow.
Well mine could be described as the OBT of Scorpions. I'm no expert, but I am positive she's a P imperator. She was in a pile of other Emperors at LLL in Oceanside. Not saying LLL are experts, but if they have a pile of big black scorpions, only Emperors are exported in such numbers from Ghana.

I tried introducing a smaller male emperor, and she immediately went for the attack. Had to separate them.
Thought it was weird because she used to be housed with 50 others, and she tolerated it then.
She even used to be tame, now she's the evilest thing on the earth.

I also have a baby Malaysian Forest, and he lives up to his name hehe. Bastard stung me once already.

You know, I have the same issue! Mines a male and is the freakin' Anti-christ of scorpions.
My son used to be able to handle him, but now he's mean as hell!

funny thing about pandinus sp. ....like avicularia in tarantulas...the different sp are so close in looks that you might not even have an emp.....I have a very large [almost 8"] emp that is every bit tame except when eating and then it is all business....het's are a bit more smooth and streamlined than pandinus and most pandinus are chunkier.
cavimanus is another that looks like an emp but is more aggressive

My supposed Emp eats with a cricket in her mouth, and a cricket in each pincher.
She seriously eats like a kid in a candy factory.
